Setting up a Wi-Fi connection to the FRITZ!Box

You want to configure a Wi-Fi connection to the FRITZ!Box manually? ✔ Here is how to set up Wi-Fi with the default password or your own password.

You can connect your mobile devices to the internet and your home network quickly and securely via the Wi-Fi network of your FRITZ!Box. You can either use a QR code or manually enter the Wi-Fi network key to set up the connection.

If you did not change the FRITZ!Box's Wi-Fi settings, you can use the QR code for Wi-Fi access and the Wi-Fi settings from the type label on the FRITZ!Box or from the FRITZ! Notes enclosed in the box:

If you changed the FRITZ!Box's Wi-Fi settings, you can find the valid QR code and the current Wi-Fi settings in the FRITZ!Box user interface:

  1. Click on 'Wi-Fi' ('Wireless') in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click on 'Wi-Fi Network' ('Radio Network') in the 'Wi-Fi' ('Wireless') menu.
  3. Make note of the name of the Wi-Fi network (SSID) and the Wi-Fi network key or Click on 'Print Info Sheet' if you want to print the Wi-Fi settings (including the QR code).

2 Establishing a Wi-Fi connection to the FRITZ!Box

Connecting an Android smartphone or tablet with the FRITZ!Box

  1. Open the 'Settings' on your smartphone or tablet.
  2. Tap 'Network & Internet' in the 'Settings'.
  3. Tap 'Internet'.
  4. If Wi-Fi is switched off, tap the 'On / Off' symbol.
  5. In the section 'Wi-Fi', tap 'Add Wi-Fi' and then the QR code symbol . If the QR code is not displayed, you can also scan the QR code with FRITZ!App Wi-Fi.
  6. Point the camera at the QR code for Wi-Fi access on the FRITZ!Box's type label. If there is no QR code for Wi-Fi access printed on the type label or you changed the FRITZ!Box's Wi-Fi settings, use the QR code under 'Wi-Fi > Wi-Fi Channel' ('Wireless > Radio Network') in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  7. Now the Wi-Fi connection is established.

Connecting the iPhone or iPad to the home network

  1. Open the camera app on the iPhone or iPad.
  2. Point the camera at the QR code for Wi-Fi access on the FRITZ!Box's type label. If there is no QR code for Wi-Fi access printed on the type label or you changed the FRITZ!Box's Wi-Fi settings, use the QR code under 'Wi-Fi > Wi-Fi Channel' ('Wireless > Radio Network') in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  3. Tap 'Join [...] network'.
  4. In the 'Join Wi-Fi network [...]?' window, tap 'Connect'.
  5. Now the Wi-Fi connection is established.
