Saving and restoring the FRITZ!Smart Gateway settings

You can save the settings of your FRITZ!Smart Gateway in a backup file and use it to restore all of the settings, if necessary.

Note:You can also have the push service save the settings automatically. The "Save Settings" push service automatically sends an email with the backup file before every update and each time the factory settings are loaded.

Requirements / Restrictions

  • When restoring the backup file in a different FRITZ!Smart Gateway, the FRITZ!OS version of the other FRITZ!Smart Gateway must be at least as high as the FRITZ!OS version of the old FRITZ!Smart Gateway.

1 Saving the FRITZ!Smart Gateway settings

  1. Click "System" in the user interface of the FRITZ!Smart Gateway.
  2. Click "Backup" in the "System" menu.
  3. Click on the "Save" tab.
  4. Enter a password.
  5. Click "Save".
  6. Save the file "FRITZ.Smart_Gateway_[...].export" on your computer.

2 Restoring the FRITZ!Smart Gateway settings

  1. Click "System" in the user interface of the FRITZ!Smart Gateway.
  2. Click "Backup" in the "System" menu.
  3. Click on the "Restore" tab.
  4. Click the "Browse..." or "Choose File" button.
  5. Select the file "FRITZ.Smart_Gateway_[...].export" with the settings you want to restore.
  6. Enter the password you entered when saving the file.
  7. Click the "Restore" button.

3 Re-registering FRITZ!Smart devices and FRITZ!DECT devices

After importing the settings, you can quickly and easily re-register the FRITZ!Smart devices and FRITZ!DECT devices that were connected with the FRITZ!Smart Gateway when the backup file was created:

  1. Click "Smart Home" in the user interface of the FRITZ!Smart Gateway.
  2. Click "Devices and Groups" in the "Smart Home" menu.
  3. Click the link "Reregister Devices".
  4. Re-register your FRITZ!Smart devices or FRITZ!DECT devices with the FRITZ!Smart Gateway:

    FRITZ!DECT 440    		 Press the Menu button.
    FRITZ!DECT 400 Push the connection button on the top side until you hear a signal tone.
    FRITZ!Smart Thermo 302
    FRITZ!DECT 302    		 Press and hold the menu button, and select (registration) > OK".
    FRITZ!DECT 301 Press the menu button and select "Anmeldung > OK".
    FRITZ!DECT 300 Press the menu button and select "FUNK > OK".
    FRITZ!Smart Control 350
    FRITZ!DECT 350    		 Load the factory settings of FRITZ!DECT 350.
    FRITZ!Smart Energy 250 Push the Connect button until the LED pulses green.
    FRITZ!Smart Energy 210, 200
    FRITZ!DECT 210, 200    		 Hold the DECT button down until the button flashes.
