Using open window detection with FRITZ!Smart Control 350
To save energy, you can use the door/window contact FRITZ!Smart Control 350 for open window detection in combination with your radiator controls. The radiator control keeps the valve closed as long as the door/window contact signals that the window is "open". The symbol is shown on the display of the radiator control and then the antifreeze function is enabled:
Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!Box.
1 Using a FRITZ! door/window contact for open window detection
- Click "Smart Home" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
- Click "Devices and Groups" in the "Smart Home" menu.
- Click the
(Edit) button for the radiator control you want to regulate using the door/window contact. With FRITZ!OS 8, click the
(Edit) button for the door/window contact.
- Select the desired radiator control under "Open window detection for radiator control".
- Click "Apply" to save the settings.
To save energy and minimize DECT radiation, FRITZ! radiator controls only communicate with the FRITZ!Box at certain intervals. Therefore, the FRITZ! door/window contact may not notify the radiator control that the door or window was opened until about three minutes later, so the radiator control does not react until then.
