Configuring a network device to automatically obtain IP settings (DHCP)

All of the computers, smartphones, and other network devices connected to the FRITZ!Repeater need special IP settings that are automatically assigned to them by the DHCP server (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) of the internet router in order to communicate with the FRITZ!Repeater and internet router (for example a FRITZ!Box, FRITZ!Repeater). For this, the device's IP settings must be configured to automatically obtain IP settings (DHCP client).

Note:If the FRITZ!Repeater is operated on a FRITZ!Box, the DHCP server of the FRITZ!Repeaters is disabled. In this case, the FRITZ!Box assigns the necessary IP settings to the devices.
