Configuring the push service
If you want, you can have the push service send you emails informing you about the status of your smart home devices, such as switching actions, low battery level, or if the radio connection to the FRITZ! door/window contact is interrupted.
First of all, configure the account information for your email account in the FRITZ!Box so the push service can send emails. Depending on whether you are using the FRITZ! door/window contact with the FRITZ!Box or the FRITZ!Smart Gateway, enable the 'Smart Home' push service in the corresponding user interface; it will then send you push service mails about certain events.
Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!Box.
1 Entering email account information
- Click on 'System' in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
- Click on 'Push Service' in the 'System' menu.
- Click on the 'Configure Push Service' button and follow the wizard's instructions. If the button is not shown, click on the 'Sender' tab.
- Enable the push service.
- Enter the account information for the email address to be used as the sender address for the push service. With T-Online email addresses, you must enter your Telekom password for email clients in the 'Password' field.
- Click on 'Account Information: Additional Settings'.
Note:In most cases, the FRITZ!Box automatically completes the following information. With smaller local providers, you have to enter it yourself. The required information is supplied by your email provider.
- Enter your username and the name of your email provider's SMTP server.
- If the server is not accessible on port 25, enter the port used by the server to communicate in the 'Port' field, for example 587.
- If the server supports SSL, enable the option 'This server supports a secure connection (SSL)'.
- Enable the option 'Test email sending after adopting the settings'. If the option is not available, the test email will be sent automatically.
- Click on 'Next' or 'Apply' and follow the wizard's instructions.
Now the sender for push service mail is configured and the FRITZ!Box sends a test email to your email account.
2 Enabling the 'Smart Home' Push Service
- Click on 'System' in the FRITZ!Box user interface or in the user interface of the FRITZ!Smart Gateway.

- Click on the 'Smart Home' button. If the button is not displayed, click on the
(Edit) button for the 'Smart Home' push service.
- Click on the
(Edit) button for the smart home device you want to enable the push service for.
- Select the 'Push service enabled' option.
- Click on 'Apply' to save the settings.
