Registering a FRITZ! smart plug with the FRITZ!Smart Gateway

You can also register your FRITZ! smart plugs, for example FRITZ! Smart Energy 200, with the FRITZ!Smart Gateway to increase the number of smart home devices that can be used in your home network.

Requirements / Restrictions

  • The FRITZ!Smart Gateway is connected with the Mesh Master and is marked with the Mesh symbol in the Mesh Overview.

1 Registering a FRITZ! smart plug

  1. Plug the FRITZ! smart plug into an outlet near the FRITZ!Smart Gateway.
  2. Click "Smart Home" in the user interface of the FRITZ!Smart Gateway.
  3. Click "Devices and Groups" in the "Smart Home" menu.
  4. Click the "Register a FRITZ! Smart Home Device" button and then "Next".
  5. Within 2 minutes: Push the DECT button on the FRITZ! smart plug. Hold down the button for at least 6 seconds until the DECT LED starts to flash quickly. The FRITZ! smart plug is in registration mode as long as the LED flashes quickly.
  6. As soon as the FRITZ! smart plug is successfully registered, it is displayed in the FRITZ!Box user interface under "Devices and Groups" and can be configured there.
